Core Values (The 6 Cs)

London Academy Rabat's curriculum and ethos place a high value on the development of the 6 Cs of education:

  • Character: Developing strong moral and ethical foundations, focusing on integrity, resilience, and self-discipline.

  • Citizenship: Encouraging students to be responsible and active members of their local and global communities, promoting respect and empathy.

  • Collaboration: Valuing the ability to work effectively with others, share ideas, and learn from diverse perspectives.

  • Communication: Emphasizing the clear and effective exchange of ideas, both verbally and in writing.

  • Creativity: Fostering imaginative thinking, exploring novel solutions, and unique self-expression.

  • Critical Thinking: Guiding students to analyse information objectively, evaluate arguments logically, and form well-reasoned judgments.

British Values (The 5 Values)

LAR is committed to promoting the five key British Values, which are visibly embedded in its curriculum and daily school life:

  1. Democracy: Embedded through formal processes like elections for the School Council, teaching students the importance of having an opinion and respecting others' views.

  2. The Rule of Law: Consistently reinforced through school rules and the wider curriculum to show that laws exist to govern and protect everyone.

  3. Individual Liberty: Promoted by providing a safe environment for students to exercise freedom of choice in their learning tasks and extra-curricular activities, educated on how to exercise these freedoms safely.

  4. Mutual Respect: A core value where students are expected to treat each other and staff with respect, understanding that their actions affect the rights of others.

  5. Tolerance of those of Different Faiths and Beliefs: Achieved by equipping students with knowledge and understanding of diverse societies, celebrating the school's culturally diverse community, and challenging prejudice.
