The school will provide accommodation at arrival for staff and dependents up to 4 days in a hotel.
Housing allowance: defined based on market prices and family size.
Single: Annual $8,000
Teaching couple: Annual $ 12,000
An additional annual $ 600 per qualified dependent, up to a maximum of two dependents. The benefit due to dependents will be distributed equally to both parents. There is no double payment.
Medical
School provides international medical coverage for staff and dependents.
Dependent Opportunities
AC 100% Tuition scholarship for faculty:
Maximum of two children in school age if teaching couple. Children must meet admissions requirements.
Benefit applies only for education and registration. Uniforms, Meals, Extracurricular activities, IB tests and transportation are not included.
100% IMAGINE nursery discount provided to dependents from 12 months old up to 3 years. Registration, Extended Program, Enrichment and Transportation are not included.
Flights/Transport
Flight economy fare for Educator and qualified dependents is provided, between Educator’s home of record and Quito at the start of employment agreement (only one way).
Lowest flight economy fare round trip ticket is provided as annual leave/summer travel.
Lowest flight economy fare is provided to return to your home of record at the end of the contract, unless the Educator breaks the contract (in this case the flight is not provided).
Moving Allowance
Reimbursement for actual shipping from the home of record. Single: up to US$2,000; Teaching couple: up to US$2,500; School will provide up to an additional US$250 per qualified dependent for up to a maximum of two dependents.
If you prefer, you can use the shipping allowance to pay extra-baggage.
Shipping allowance is provided to the Educator’s home of record when the contract ends. Allowance is not provided when the Educator breaks the contract.
Bonus
Settling in Allowance: This is to facilitate your transition to Ecuador and the first expenses you will have arriving in Quito. A lump sum will be paid the first week the new hire arrives in cash: $2,000 for a Single, $2,500 if 2 people, $3,000 if 3 people or more. For one year contracts, this benefit does not apply.
Retirement
Starting the Second Year of contract, the school will provide 8.33% of the salary as Retirement fund. This amount will be added to your payroll.
Taxes
The Educator is responsible for paying any and all Ecuadorian taxes.
Income tax is based on the salary and additional payments.
Subject to taxes: Salary, Housing, settling in allowance, any reimbursement and Bonuses paid through payroll.
Not subject to taxes: Travel allowance, Shipping and transportation provided by AC.
Couples are required to declare individually.
A tax support person is provided by AC to help the foreign hires to keep your tax file and calculation up to date.
