"The most important thing in life is to stop saying 'I wish' and start saying 'I will'. Consider nothing impossible, then treat possibilities as probabilities"
- Charles Dickens
Lancaster School is a non-profit, bicultural, inclusive school with a progressive educational philosophy, firmly committed to both Mexican and international educational systems. While we are rightly proud that many of our graduates go on to university, we do not measure the school’s success only through academic performance. Central to the school’s philosophy and practice is the recognition that our educational project focuses on helping our students discover who they are and who they want to be. As a community, we welcome diversity in all its forms and the complexity that goes with this.
Lancaster caters for roughly 700 children from 3 to 18 years, mostly of Mexican nationality from professional and academic families. Our students start with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) during the Primary years. Secondary students study the Cambridge curriculum, IGCSEs and the IB Diploma, while also completing local educational requirements. French classes are limited to a maximum of 20 students.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring, and passionate English teacher with a genuine commitment to the education of the whole child. The successful candidate will preferably have a minimum of two years' teaching experience and some understanding of teaching in an EAL context. It is more important that you have a creative approach to turning curriculum into learning, are committed to creating a classroom ethos where children flourish and are excited by the opportunity to work in an informal and friendly atmosphere alongside a mix of foreign and Mexican colleagues.
Some of what we can offer at Lancaster includes:
Classes are small (maximum 25) and there is daily non-contact time
Ongoing support for professional development
Good local salaries & benefits

Return airfare at the end of the contract

Since signing up with Schrole we have been very impressed by the customer service, the modern-looking online platform, the absence of placement fees, and the various other Schrole products that we may be able to benefit from in the future. We have filled a number of positions this year with candidates from Schrole, during a particularly difficult recruitment year for us. The customer service is terrific. It seems that Schrole is leading the way in moving teacher recruitment into the 2020's.
