Be part of something groundbreaking! The American International School Dhaka has built a state-of-the-art Inclusionary Learning Center to meet the diverse needs of students within and beyond the AISD community, and we seek a passionate, innovative Speech and Language Pathologist to join our dynamic team.
In this transformative role, you'll have the extraordinary opportunity to shape how students communicate, learn, and thrive in our school community. Working alongside local partner international schools, you'll extend your impact beyond our campus walls. Provide evidence-based interventions through flexible service delivery models including:
Individual therapy sessions for intensive skill development
Small group sessions for peer interaction and generalization
Push-in classroom support and co-teaching to address goals within the academic context
Collaborative consultation with teachers to embed communication strategies throughout the school day
Design and implement interventions for language processing disorders, addressing receptive, expressive, and processing components that impact academic achievement
Support literacy development through phonological awareness training, vocabulary development, reading comprehension strategies, and written language skills
Work within our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework, providing universal classroom language enrichment (Tier 1), targeted small-group interventions for at-risk students (Tier 2), and intensive individualized services for students with diagnosed speech or communication disorders (Tier 3)
Collaborate & Consult
Build trusting relationships with students and families through regular communication, parent training, and home program development
Partner with general and special education teachers to:
Align speech-language goals with curriculum objectives
Model language facilitation strategies in the classroom
Adapt instructional materials and assessments for students with communication needs
Professional Responsibilities
Maintain comprehensive documentation including evaluation reports, IEP progress monitoring, and other relevant documentation
Collect and analyze data to inform intervention decisions and demonstrate student progress
Stay current with evidence-based practices through ongoing professional development, particularly in areas such as language processing disorders, literacy intervention, and cultural responsiveness
Contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives
