Assignment of Duties:
Teaching assignments and outside of class duties will be determined by the administration in accordance with school policy. Normally, teachers will have the equivalent of at least one “prep period” and one other non-teaching “duty” period, on average, per day.
Duties Beyond the Classroom:
Classroom teaching is the fundamental responsibility of every staff member. In addition, involvement with students and other staff members in meaningful activities beyond the classroom, especially in the areas of student activities, sports, and clubs, curriculum development, and planning special events, is a vital part of an AISD teacher’s job.

Utilities
Up to $3,500 per household per year for gas, electricity, and water, plus an additional $1,000 maximum per year for dependent children.
Moving Allowance
Shipping: $5,000 for a single, $7,000 for a teaching couple, and an additional $500 for each dependent child up to a maximum of 2 dependents.
Settling in Allowance: $1,000 for a single teacher, $1,500 for a family (one teacher teaching at AISD), and $2,000 for a teaching couple with or without dependents.
Dependent Opportunities
2 children per teacher or 3 children for a teaching couple.
Medical
School-sponsored international health insurance plan for the employee and dependents that reside with the employee or are full-time college students not more than 26 years of age.
Dental
The School will pay the cost of the health insurance provided by the School for Employee and spouse (if residing in Dhaka), and minor dependents who currently reside with the Employee or are under the age of 26, regardless if they are residing with the Employee or not.
The School provides a total Dental/Vision self-insurance benefit of $750 a year (per person) to be used over the length of the contract. This coverage is provided to the employee, Spouse and dependent children who are covered under the AISD Health Insurance Plan. This benefit expires at the termination of the contract. Benefits are for each covered family member separately – unused benefits from one family member cannot be used by another family member.
All Claims for vision must be submitted to the School’s Insurance carrier and the unpaid portion may then be claimed from the School by submitting an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from the Insurance carrier showing the unpaid balance.

Retirement
U.S. Citizens: The school will contribute 10% of the Employee’s base salary, on a monthly basis, into the schools’ 401K AISD Retirement Plan conditional on the employee also making a minimum monthly contribution of 3% or more (up to the IRS limits), of their base salary into that same plan. If the Employee contributes less than 3%, they are not eligible to receive the 10% contribution.
Non-U.S. Citizens: The school will contribute 10% of the Employee’s base salary, on a monthly basis, to the Employee for their retirement. The Employee is responsible to set up their own retirement program.
