Job Description:

  • To be responsible for planning and facilitating creative and engaging learning, in a highly inclusive environment;
  • To be able to use formative assessment to inform planning and deliver a personalised curriculum for each child;
  • To develop a nurturing and safe environment in which children thrive in their learning;
  • To develop an environment of inquiry, where students’ questions are valued and lead their learning journey;
  • To develop excellent relationships with parents and the wider community, through regular and effective communication;
  • To have and develop further a range of techniques to cater for English Language Learners;
  • To deliver appropriately-planned lessons, learning encounters, sequences of lessons and programmes of study;
  • To have a detailed and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of examination board assessment and syllabus requirements
  • To offer regular and constructive feedback to help students close the gap between where they are now, and where they wish to be;
  • To challenge each student to be the best they can be, supporting them to reach their full potential;
  • To be committed to the ongoing development of a holistic, child-centred curriculum, drawing on best practice from around the world;
  • Have a keen focus the approaches to learning taken by students, creating an engaging learning environment where they can learn independently, challenge their own thinking, think creatively and solve problems;
  • Ensure that the learning environment is a place of full inclusivity, differentiating learning to support individual needs;
  • Maintain marking and assessment records and have a clear understanding of students’ progress in learning;
  • Demonstrate proactive and positive ways of supporting students where barriers are found;
  • Effectively support each student’s personal, social and emotional development;
  • Take an active role as a Personal Tutor to a group of tutees within a school Grade;
  • Participate fully in the life of the school, including actively supporting cocurricular activities (Enrichment), duties such as supervision, evening prep, guided reading and Boarding House life;
  • Engage in positive behaviour management to ensure a caring and respectful environment;
Requirements of the role:
  • Native English speaker
  • Holder of bachelor’s degree in primary education or a relevant subject with an additional teaching qualification.
  • Possession of relevant education certifications or teaching qualifications such as PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) certificates.
  • Minimum 3 years of full-time teaching experience in a school setting, preferably with experience or training in IB
  • Have passion for teaching students
  • Demonstrate rigorous approach in teaching different year levels
  • Excellent communication and organising skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated commitment to teamwork
  • Previous experience in subject leadership is beneficial, and looked at advantageously.
  • Cross-cultural teaching experience and adaptability to establish positive relationships with students and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds, fostering cultural exchange and understanding.

Interviews
Candidates selected for interview will be invited to interview with the Head of College or other senior leaders to discuss their experience and interest in the role. Depending on your location, interviews will be conducted in the following cities or via video conference:
