About: International Community School Amman

The International Community School (ICS) in Amman, Jordan, is home to over 700 students representing more than 60 nationalities. Established as a not-for-profit school, ICS invests every Dinar of fees directly back into creating an exceptional learning experience. Following the English National Curriculum, ICS prepares students aged 3-18 for IGCSEs and A Levels – internationally recognised as the “gold standard” for university entry. Fully accredited by COBIS, BSO, CIS and BSME, ICS is proud to combine rigorous academics with inclusivity, community spirit and global citizenship.

Teachers at ICS join a forward-thinking professional environment where innovation, collaboration, and professional growth are prioritised. With small class sizes, an engaged parent community, and students who are eager to learn, educators are empowered to deliver meaningful and impactful teaching. The school’s not-for-profit status also ensures that resources are continually reinvested into enhancing teaching and learning, giving teachers the tools and support they need to thrive in their roles.

Ethos: International Community School Amman

ICS is built on the belief that education should empower young people to become fearlessly determined global citizens. Guided by its values of integrity, determination, respect, empathy, and equity, the school places inclusivity at the heart of everything it does – catering for high-achieving students aiming for Oxbridge or Ivy League universities, as well as those with mild to moderate learning needs.

The three pillars of the ICS learning philosophy are:

  • High-Quality Learning: Ensuring challenge, engagement and ownership of learning.
  • Intercultural Learning: Celebrating curiosity, diversity, and cross-cultural understanding.
  • Global Citizenship: Equipping students to make a positive difference locally and internationally.

Graduates of ICS leave as principled, self-directed learners, creative thinkers, and empathetic leaders prepared to thrive anywhere in the world. For teachers, this ethos translates into a supportive, collaborative work environment where innovative teaching is encouraged, and professional contributions are valued. The culture at ICS fosters a genuine sense of belonging for both students and staff, making it a place where educators can truly live their values and see their efforts make a lasting difference.
