High Tech Academy is seeking an inspiring Social Studies teacher to teach in the Middle School. The candidate should be an inspirational, motivational and engaging Social Studies teacher with experience of teaching EAL students. The school is seeking teachers who are passionate about teaching students, open-minded, creative and enjoy collaboration with their colleagues. Teachers who have self-awareness, integrity, and a strong work ethic and good subject knowledge, and are open to innovation and trying new things.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates that:
- Employ modern teaching techniques and have the ability to lead on projects and work collaboratively
- Have taught Social Studies courses to international students (Geography and History)
- Contribute to project based learning (PBL), a teaching method in which students learn by actively engaging in meaningful projects
- Actively promote high quality learning, where all students develop skills and concepts at high levels
- Create an inquiry-based classroom that develop critical thinking skills, knowledge and a range of skills within an environment based on trust and respect
- Select relevant resources and digital tools to support and enhance learning, and promote responsible use of technology
Requirements:
- An appropriate bachelor’s degree
- A recognised teaching certification / qualification
- A minimum of 3 years' teaching experience
- Good knowledge of Social Studies
- The ability and willingness to teach Common Core
- Dedication to the ongoing development and excellence of High Tech Academy, and a commitment to the school's values and ethos
